According to World Nuclear Association, nuclear power will tick over 15,000 reactor years of operation any day. It’s at 14,998 as at October 13th. We could say that would be a lot of candles to blow out, but they emit greenhouse gas and smoke, both of which have alarming externalities. Perhaps we should just raise a glass of something bubbly or frothy instead.
